I am an orthopedic surgeon with a practice focused on hip and knee surgery. My purpose is to help people of diverse backgrounds reduce joint pain and regain their desired level of physical activity. I became a medical provider because I wanted a career that focused on improving people's lives. I tremendously enjoy playing sports and more specifically surfing. I chose orthopaedic surgery because I wanted to help restore patients' function enabling them to get back to the activities that they enjoy.Dr. Berger specializes in treating sports injuries and degenerative conditions of the knee, hip, and shoulder. The most common surgeries he performs are arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, including ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstruction and rotator cuff repair, and joint replacement surgery of the knee, hip, and shoulder. He also commonly treats traumatic tendon injuries and fractures.  Dr. Berger attended the University of Pennsylvania for his undergraduate education. He received his medical degree from the University of California – Davis where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. He did his orthopedic surgery residency at UCLA (University of California – Los Angeles) where he was elected as one of the Chief Residents in his graduating class.
